October 2008
- On October 30th, the McCausland Hospital issued a joint statement with the Township of Terrace Bay and Schreiber regarding the future direction of the Long Term Care Project. To read this statement see the LTC section - Project News.
- On September 26th and 27th, The McCausland Hospital hosted a Strategic Planning Exercise. Facilitated by Carl White, the purpose of this exercise was to give the community an opportunity to provide input and insight into what direction the Hospital should be taking over the next three years.
We sincerely appreciate the participation of Mrs. Gwen Dubois-Wing and Mr. Kevin Bahm from the LHINs, Mrs. Susan Fairservice from the North Shore Family Health Team and Dr. Wayne Bruce and Mr. Ken Adams from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine for their participation in this exercise.
- Of significant importance in the future direction of The McCausland Hospital is the Long Term Care Project. Tenders for the project were opened on September 11th and the bids were significantly higher than initially anticipated. The Board continues to work with the architect and the contractor to reduce these costs. We also continue to work with the LHINs, the Ministry of Health & Long Term Care, and with Michael Gravelle, MPP, for additional funding sources.
- The Board of Governors remains fully committed to the construction of the Long Term Care Project at The McCausland Hospital. We encourage you to check here for updates on our Long Term Care Project and other News and Events at the Hospital.
