Welcome to the new website of The McCausland Hospital!

The McCausland Hospital is situated on the magnificent shores of Lake Superior and is a modern, fully-accredited 23-bed community hospital.  The hospital has a staff of 75 employees with 51 full-time equivalents and serves a population of over 4,000 residents from the communities of Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Rossport, Jackfish and Pays Plat First Nation.  The hospital celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2005.

Constructed in 1980, the Hospital was named after Dr. Michael McCausland (Dr. Mike) who arrived in Terrace Bay in 1946 with his family following four years of medical duties in the Navy.  With the permission of the McCausland Family, the McCausland coat-of-arms is used on all official correspondence.  "Clarion hinc honor" means "to go forth in honour" and we are proud to do so.
