Pastoral Care
As part of the healthcare team, our Pastoral Care Committee works in an interfaith capacity with people from all faith traditions as well as those who do not belong to any faith tradition.
Spiritual care providers offer:
- Grief and loss care
- Crisis intervention
- Referral to resources, both internal (health care providers) and external (support communities, spiritual caregivers from specific faith traditions)
- Help with difficult ethical and moral decisions and dilemmas
Upon request, spiritual care providers facilitate and lead:
- Prayer, meditation and blessings
- Readings of holy texts
- Administration of sacraments
- Memorial services
- Worship services, observance of religious holidays
- Funerals
- Rituals at times of life cycle transition, e.g. at the time of death
On-Call Chaplain
The on-call chaplain is available 24 hours a day by request through a nurse or by dialing 825-3273, ext. 155.
