"SHORE LUNCH" Raises $1,000 for Long Term Care

For the sixth straight year, the Terrace Bay Fish Derby's "Shore Lunch" in support of the McCausland Hospital's Long-Term Care Project sold out.

The dedicated organizers of the Shore Lunch have raised over $3,500 towards the Long-Term Care Project Capital Campaign.

The project is fortunate to have such generous vounteers who assist the campaign by hosting third party fund raising events and the community for their support.  "Together our communities have turned a vision of long-term care locally into a reality", said Susan Lubberdink, Coordinator of the Long-Term Care Project.

FURNISH A ROOM CAMPAIGN RECEIVES SPONSORSHIP IN MEMORY OF JAMIE COLLINSON

The McCausland Hospital's "Furnish a Room Campaign" recently received a joint sponsorship for the "Quiet/Multi Purpose Room" from the family of the late Jamie Collinson and Investors Group.

"The Long Term Care Project, Board of Governors, patients and staff are grateful that the family of the late Jamie Collinson has chosen to invest in our Long-Term Care project  to honour Jamie's memory", commented Susan Lubberdink, Coordinator of the Long Term Care Project.

Investors Group has had a strong and long-standing relationship with the project over the past eight years through their matching gift program.  Jason Nesbitt of Investors Group was first involved with the soup and sandwich lunches during the Schreiber Winter Carnival and continues to volunteer his time with the project's fund raising events.

Jamie Collinson's memory will live on through the generosity of his family and Investor's Group and will touch everyone who will use the Quiet/Multi Purpose Room in the new Long-Term Care Facility.

Auxiliary to The McCausland Hospital hosts the "FURNISH A ROOM KICK-OFF CAMPAIGN"

imageThe Auxiliary to The McCausland Hospital, Investors Group and the Long-TermCare Project hosted a soup and sandwich lunch fund-raiser to kick-off the Furnish a Room Campaign.  Pictured from left to right are Natalie Boucher, June King, Susan Lubberdink, Jason Nesbitt, Anna McKie, Anne Querry and Diane Polesky.  Missing from the photograph are Lynn Kennedy and Louise Schumph.

The volunteers of the Auxiliary dedicate their fund-raising endeavors to supporting the purchase of equipment,  the Long-Term Care Project and other programs at the McCausland Hospital.
The Auxiliary to The McCausland Hospital has played a vital role supporting the Long-Term Care Project over the past years.  "Simply put, the Long-Term Care project honours the Auxiliary who donate their time, goodwill and energy to all their fund-raising efforts", said Susan Lubberdink, Coordinator of the Long-Term Care Project.

Today's luncheon also celebrates the partnership with Jason Nesbitt - Investors Group.  Investors Group has supported the Long-Term Care Project since 2003 through their Matching Gift Program.

The luncheon was well attended, raising $536, plus $500 from the Investors Group Matching Gift Program.  The winner of the 50/50 draw was Suzanne Bouchard who won $128.50.

The vision of the 22-Bed Long-Term Care Project has now become a reality with a spectacular 15,000 square foot facility being constructed adjacent to the existing hospital.  We have the facility, now we need your help to fill it.  The goal is to raise $215,213 to furnish the inside of the facility and donations can be made in a variety of forms.

The 22-bed facility will be state-of-the-art and will be the focal point to deliver a much needed healthcare service that will allow residents to remain active and vital in their communities.  It is our hope, that through generous donations, we will be able to provide the furnishings in the various rooms and create a warm, comfortable environment for the residents.  To date, the campaign has sold the Activity Room, Quiet/Multi Purpose Room, 1 Private room and 4 Semi-private rooms.

For more information on how you can support the "Furnish a Room Campaign", click here  or call Susan Lubberdink at 807-825-3273, ext 134 for more details.

With contributions from our community, you can help turn a room into a home for the residents.

All donations are tax creditable and receipts will be issued.  Charitable Registration #119244705 RR0001.
